Quick and dirty prototyping

Grassbots is a research project about robot technology in farming. Lowland areas and other marginal areas form a huge and currently unused resource of biomass for the biogas and bio refinery industry.

The purpose of the whole project was to develop a novel lightweight, autonomous machine concept for economically and environmentally sound harvest of grass on lowland.

My role in the GrassBots project was to design the interactions between an operator and the robot harvester. This involved designing the front end of the control app and looking at other ways og empowering the user, whilst improving control, affordance and security.
